During my own journey, I never had the chance to speak to someone with the same rare cancer. I realized how powerful shared experiences could be. Volunteering was my way to offer comfort, hope, and understanding to those who needed it most. After training, I started calling patients—sometimes right after their diagnosis, sometimes in the middle of treatment when they just needed someone to talk to. Every conversation reminded me that no one should go through this alone. Cancer Connect is like running with a friend—you push each other forward. I feel lucky to be there for others, to listen, and to share hope. If you’re a survivor, I encourage you to consider volunteering. Your story might be exactly what someone needs to hear.
